Benefits

The company will be a kind of insurance for the properties, many of which may not be insurable through any insurance companies currently operating in Romania (old vernacular buildings are not considered worthy of insurance). The nature of the insurance will be participants in LILTrans promising to work together to repair/rebuild damage caused by storms/fire etc. Investors will pool their skills and time so that the necessary work can be done cheaply, effectively and efficiently. As we grow your exposure to any kind of risk will decrease. The company will also be able to provide services and buy wholesale ethical goods to reduce costs. All owners will have equal voting rights.

Lifestyle

You will basically be what is known as a crofter in the Celtic fringes of the UK. You will spend a proportion of your time working on whatever scheme you have chosen(see document on work opportunities), while a lot of your time, perhaps most, will be spent looking after your property and producing food for you and your family. A peasant, permaculture, locally-based economy still exists in Romania. You will be entering an adventurous new lifestyle, while reducing your impact on the environment. You will be a kind of missionary, who, by your lifestyle choice will be demonstrating to the local population that not all Westerners are here to sell cars and build massive hypermarkets. You will be taking part in a development route for rural Romania which will be much simpler and less destructive than the (probably impossible to achieve) current government goal of transforming Romania into a Balkan West Germany. You can improve your quality of your life while having a positive impact on a whole society.

You can have as much to do with the company's interests or as little as you wish. You can work closely for shared aims or keep your distance from any form of community. All you need to do to remain part of LILTrans is to remain within the guidelines re.house ownership and the responsibilities this entails.
