Low Impact Living Transilvania - LILTrans

Welcome to the home page of the organisation which supports downsizers wishing to move to Transylvania and start (or continue) a low impact life.

Low Impact Living Transilvania puts the environment and the good of all before profit. LILTrans will always do this, without exception and without compromise.

Low Impact Living Transilvania (LILTrans) is a company registered in Romania. It is licensed to buy/sell/rent property and to cultivate and sell vegetables and other crops. At the moment it is wholly owned by Douglas Mcfarlane and Sara Meaker.

We renovate old buildings

We grow vegetables and crops without chemicals or pesticides

We invite volunteers to work with us and with our neighbours from June to September

We are part of the WWOOF Romania network

We are members of Ecoruralis

We exist to encourage environmentally-minded people to come and live in a region of Transylvania which is known in Hungarian as the Kalotaszeg. Hopefully those who come will form a loose eco-community. We can give advice and contacts to make this easier. You may even become an investor in the company (ie an investor in a sustainable future economy) to the value of a property you have bought. You can become part of Low Impact Living Transilvania.
